Quisisana is music in Maine, and a unique vacation experience. Our staff each summer is made up of talented performers from the New England Conservatory of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Tisch School of the Arts (NYU), and other fine schools. An evening at Quisisana is filled not only with gourmet dinners, breathtaking sunsets, the scent of pine and the call of the loons, but also with the music of Mozart and Bach, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim and Gershwin.
Quisisana is also known for its superb food. We serve three meals a day, including our famous Sunday buffet. Tuesday's lakeside cocktail party, with the sounds of our instrumentalists drifting over the water, is a guest favorite. Guests eagerly await the lunch and dinner menu on their breakfast table and the choosing of meals is a frequent breakfast debate. (If you feel like a picnic lunch for your hike or your fishing trip, just ask.)
Our cottages are scattered through the pine woods on the shore of Lake Kezar, known as one of the five most beautiful lakes in the world. Kezar is an exceptional Maine lake with warm water and a sandy bottom. The Presidential Mountain Range rises on the far shore, providing a backdrop for spectacular sunsets.
You can spend your days swimming from one of our two sandy beaches, playing tennis on one of our three clay courts, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, hiking a nearby trail, or just plain relaxing. Many guests seem to put reading on their porch and gazing at the mountains on the top of their list of activities for the day. It's all included. We also have water skiing, motorboats, lake tours, good fishing, and golf just three miles away. Not to mention our card room and Treble Hall (our indoor play space) with ping pong, TV, and plenty of other games.
