Our Weekly Opera Schedule

One thing never changes though: we always close the program, and the week of entertainment, with a beautiful rendition of Brahms’ Lullaby. This is a tradition that began in the 1940’s under owner Ralph Burg and is still cherished today.

MONDAY MORNINGS

We present an opera for young audiences. While these productions are designed to introduce future fans to legitimate singing and operatic storytelling, mostly they are a lot of fun. You will want to hear how Mozart can be turned into a genius re-telling of The Three Little Pigs, or Rossini’s music can take on the life of Little Red Riding Hood. These programs are always in English.

Wednesday eveningS

Feature our main stage opera. Sometimes it is a classic opera with translations: Carmen, La Boheme, The Marriage of Figaro, etc. Some seasons we present a musical theatre piece that requires serious singing: The Most Happy Fella, The Secret Garden, Pirates of Penzance.

Friday nightS

Are known as Concert Night, a program of fine vocal music. Although the majority of what you’ll hear will be favorite opera arias and ensembles, we add beautiful choral style and crossover music for variety.
